

Chris started training in Karate way back in 1974 and reached Brown Belt, before gaining his Black Belt in Taekwon Do five years later. Currently holding a 5th Degree with ITF and with over 35 years’ teaching experience under his belt, Chris trains regularly with Master Nicholls, 8th Degree, and Master Choi, 9th Degree. Mr Wood is also a Brown Belt in Ju Jitsu, a Member of a Western Boxing Club, has completed three Ironman triathlons and over 20 Marathons.
Gary started Taekwon Do in 1996 under Mr Woods’ tuition in Saltash. Looking for a new hobby, he soon found a passion for the art and worked his way to his 1st Dan Black Belt in 2000. Gary became a professional Instructor in 2005 and is SCMA’s Senior Instructor working alongside Mr Wood. He attained his 4th Degree Black Belt in April 2010 in Bristol, hosted by UK ITF President Master Trevor Nicholl’s 8th Degree. Gary works closely with schools as a sports coach with the School Sports Partnership delivering Martial Arts classes across the city. He also enjoys football, golf, horse racing and running and has completed 5 half marathons.
